What causes your heart rate to raise to 130 and is this dangerous?

If you%26#039;re exercising, that%26#039;s normal. The key is whether it slows back down to your usual resting rate pretty quickly after you stop exercising. If your heart rate suddenly goes to 130 for no apparent reason, there could be several factors. These include stress, fever, heart arrhythmias, anemia, certain medications, caffeine, dehydration, lack of sleep, panic disorder, and other issues... some serious and some not. If you%26#039;re worried, check with your doctor. Most times, this isn%26#039;t serious - and finding out may make you feel better.

What causes your heart rate to raise to 130 and is this dangerous?

stress could cause it.

I was at 127 once %26amp; no one at the hospital cared, but that experience taught me that it does depend on the patient.

127 for me wasn%26#039;t dangerous, for someone else it may be! It really comes down to how fast a minute and for how long. Those seem to be the 2 together that really count--the how long!

What causes your heart rate to raise to 130 and is this dangerous?

No, unless you have a serious medical condition, it not only safe, but normal. 130 is at the low end of the average exercise target heart rate zone. Most exercise, to lose weight, needs to be between 130 and 170 bpm (target heart rate varies by age).

What causes your heart rate to raise to 130 and is this dangerous?

If you have a *resting* heart rate of 130, you are experiencing tachycardia. It is definitely worth getting checked out by a doctor, because there could be a host of problems. Yes, it might be associated with stress, but there are other potentially serious causes. The doctor will want to run an ECG test, to confirm your heart%26#039;s rhythm looks normal (sinus).

What causes your heart rate to raise to 130 and is this dangerous?

If your not having symptoms from it than usually its okay. If you have dizziness, near fainting, or shortness of breath than you need to get checked out. I have a heart condition called PSVT-paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia- which causes my heart rate to go from 60%26#039;s to over 200 (at rest or moving around). Its pretty scary and i have passed out before from it. I am on two medications for this. MD says this is caused by an electrical misfire in my heart. I take toporol XL and tambocor. It all depends on if your having symptoms. Stress can cause rise in heart rate but you just have to monitor when and whats going on when your rate goes up. Good luck to you! Believe me...i know where your coming from! :%26gt;

What causes your heart rate to raise to 130 and is this dangerous?

If you are exercising it is normal. I normally aim for 155 - 170 when on the treadmill.

What causes your heart rate to raise to 130 and is this dangerous?

Various things can affect your heartrate including, but not limited to:

Exercise, Smoking, Obesity, Certain Medications, Anxiety, etc.

I had an SVT with my heartrate rising to 250 in seconds of an attack for 20 years. Last month I had a cardiac ablation which supposedly cured me and I have ceased all heart meds and switched from BetaBlockers to another type of BP med. See a reputable cardiologist and they will have you take a stress test, possibly several imaging tests and could also order you to have a heart cath, which is very simply done with very minimal discomfort. This way you will find out if you have a problem and put your mind at ease. Also if it is a tachycardia, it does not necessarily mean there%26#039;s a problem with your heart, but a problem with the electrical system feeding it, which at most times can be cured through a procedure chosen by your doctor. Hope you feel better soon.

What causes your heart rate to raise to 130 and is this dangerous?

A resting heart rate should be no higher thsan 80 beats per minute and that high for most people. It can be slightly higher. With pain and stress the heart beat can be elevsted to a much higher number. If this a constant number snd it occurs when you sre relaxed conatct your doctor asap. It could get worse and you could end up having a stroke if it continues to be untreated

boy

girl

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

I would say girl...but 12 weeks in is still pretty early so if it stays above 140 later on then I say girl. My doctor always said above 140 girl, below boy and for 2 out of 3 of my children it was right.

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

BOY they tend to have a bit higher heart rate than a girl.

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!!

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

thats an old wives tale!

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

strong hearth rate .............. boy

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

I%26#039;ll go with boy.By the way, you are smokin%26#039; hot.Congratulations.

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

My DR. told me this time around this was nothing but a guessing game for people. I had always heard this too and With my first (girl) it was high and Now with my second (boy) still high.

Depends on the baby and the person. God will bless you with one or the other though :) Good Luck!

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

I was 19 weeks pregnant when i got a sonogram and my babys heart rate was 158 and she turned out to be a girl.. some peolpe say that they heart rate doesnt matter but when i was 12 weeks pregnant my baby%26#039;s heart rate was 145.. so it changes..

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

our guess is as good as yours! Heart rate has nothing to do with the sex of the baby! Grow up for God%26#039;s sakes, you%26#039;re goin to be a Mother!!!

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

my son had a beat of 130 my whole pregnancy..so the old wive tail doesnt really work lol.

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

That%26#039;s an old wives tales. You cannot determine gender based on a baby%26#039;s heart beat as it fluctuates so much throughout pregnancy. Supposedly though if your baby%26#039;s heart beat is 141 and above it%26#039;s a girl, 140 and below it%26#039;s a boy. However my baby%26#039;s has always been 144+ and I%26#039;m having a little boy.

They are always faster in the early stages of pregnancy as well.

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

Its a boy. they always have fast heartbeats

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

Heartbeat means nothing. Everything you hear is all wives tales. Only another month or more and you will know. My baby%26#039;s heartrate was always between 138-142, and I had a girl.

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

The higher the heart rate means that it is a girl. The professor at the hospital told me that. My daughter%26#039;s heart rate was 172 but my boys were about 140 - 155.

I don%26#039;t think it matter though lol your having a baby.

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

Here%26#039;s a boy-girl test: do you seem to be acting like more of a boy or a girl lately? Whatever your answer is, it%26#039;s probably what the baby is.

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

girls are faster heart beats than boys, however all babies heart beats are i the begining

Baby has a heart rate of 160bpm. 12 1/2 weeks into pregancy. What%26#039;s your guess...boy or girl?

Heart rates of the fetus always start out high and then begin to lower into a certain range.

See the following results on tests just done to see if sex could be determined.

Patients who were between their 26th and 34th week of an uncomplicated pregnancy, who had not undergone in vitro fertilization, chorionic villus sampling or amniocentesis and who were not scheduled for an ultrasound after their 26th week were eligible for the study; 20 women from the Vancouver area agreed to participate. All data were collected during regular prenatal office visits.

Fetal heart rates were recorded with a doppler fetoscope for 1 min. The theory is that if the fetal heart rate is 140 beats/min or greater, the fetus is female, and if the fetal heart rate is 139 beats/min or lower, the fetus is male.

The mothers%26#039; date of birth and the month of conception were determined, and these dates were converted into their lunar equivalents (using dual roman/lunar calendars for 1997 and 1998). The Chinese lunar calendar chart5 was then used to predict the sex of each baby.

For the third method, urine samples were collected and tested immediately after they were provided; 1/4 teaspoon of Draino crystals was added to 3 mL of urine and the solution was agitated and allowed to dissolve. The colour of the resulting solution (brown or green) was then noted. Some health care professionals and patients believe that green indicates the fetus is male and brown indicates the fetus is female; others, however, believe the opposite to be true. Given the conflicting views, we examined both theories for their predictive value.

Results

The average age of the 20 women who participated in the study was 29; the mean gestational age when the data were collected was 29 weeks. There were 10 girls and 10 boys born to the 20 women. See Table 1 for the predictions based on each test and the outcomes. The fetal heart rate method had a sensitivity of 10% and specificity of 60% for predicting boys and a sensitivity of 60% and specificity of 10% for predicting girls. Positive predictive values were also low. The positive predictive values calculated for the Chinese calendar data were 50%. For the Draino test, using green to predict boys, the sensitivity was 80% and the specificity was 10% for predicting boys, and the sensitivity was 10% and specificity 80% for predicting girls. Positive predictive values were 47% and 33%, respectively. When we reversed our theory and used green to predict girls, the results were only slightly better. Sensitivity was 20% and specificity 90% for predicting boys, while sensitivity was 90% and specificity 20% for predicting girls. The positive predictive values were 67% and 53%, respectively.

What is normal heart rate for a 62 year man?

you get so many different answers from doctors %26amp; nurses. why not here from you guys.

What is normal heart rate for a 62 year man?

In most average for 62 of age, 70 to 90. As long is good health condition.

What is normal heart rate for a 62 year man?

60 - 100 beats per min

What is normal heart rate for a 62 year man?

at 62, with no health problems, a normal rate can be anywhere from 70 to 90.

What is normal heart rate for a 62 year man?

It used to be thought that heart rate increases with age. This is no longer the medical opinion. In a health man of any age, a resting pulse of 60-70 is ideal. An athlete would have a lower resting pulse rate.

You should only measure the pulse after several minutes sitting without exertion.

Is my irregular heart rate dangerous?

Hi, Claude - Hopefully I can clarify some of the misconceptions on here. Under ordinary circumstances, when a person is at rest, there is very little variation in the time interval from one heartbeat to the next. Sometimes, the heart rate can become somewhat irregular. There are several reasons why this can happen including premature beats (which are almost always very benign), heart block (sometimes benign, sometimes more problematic), and atrial fibrillation (which can put patients at risk for strokes). As you can see, it is impossible to say whether your irregular heart rate is dangerous without knowing which of these arrhythmias you may be having. The way to make the diagnosis is to check an EKG or, if your symptoms come and go, have you wear a Holter monitor or event monitor to capture these episodes. I recommend that you see your doctor about this so that he/she can tell you whether the irregular heart rate needs to be addressed. Good luck!

Is my irregular heart rate dangerous?

Of course. You should use Herbalife - Niteworks before sleep.

Is my irregular heart rate dangerous?

ANY kind of heart problem should always be referred to your Doctor. There are to many kinds of disease%26#039;s out there now. DO NOT take any chances.

Is my irregular heart rate dangerous?

%26quot;An irregular heart rate or arrhythmia, is an abnormality in the heart%26#039;s rhythm, or heartbeat pattern. The heartbeat can be too slow, too fast, have extra beats, skip a beat, or otherwise beat irregularly. More than four million Americans have arrhythmias, most of which are harmless. Middle-aged adults commonly experience arrhythmias. As people age, the probability of experiencing an arrhythmia increases. Arrhythmias often occur in people who do not have heart disease. In people with heart disease, it is usually the heart disease which is dangerous, not the arrhythmia. Arrhythmias often occur during and after heart attacks. Some types of arrhythmias, such as ventricular tachycardia, are serious and even life threatening. In the United States, arrhythmias are the primary cause of sudden cardiac death, accounting for more than 350,000 deaths each year.%26quot;

The best advice would be for you to check this out with your doctor. Whether or not it is dangerous depends on what is causing it and whether it is a bradycardic arrhythmia or tachycardia arrhythmia. For instance, ventricular tachycardia can be very serious.

Site below has lots more info on irregular heart rates. Hope that helps!

Is my irregular heart rate dangerous?

That really depends on any symptoms you might have. I have a slightly irrigular heartbeat but because i suffer no symptoms (shortness of breath, cheast pains etc) they decided not to treat it and just have it monitored by my family doctor. It can be dangerous, yes. I would recommend a doctor visit. They will do various tests, I got one where they put radio active dye in your blood stream and watched my heart beat, it was very cool. Do a search for cardiac arrhythmia.

Is my irregular heart rate dangerous?

GO SEE AN ELECTROPHYSIOLOGIS YOU MAY NEED MEDS OR EP STUDIES !!

Is my irregular heart rate dangerous?

Go to a doctor. I bet you are just fine

Is my irregular heart rate dangerous?

It depends.Usually those arrhythmia which originate in the top chamber of the heart are not.The ones that originate in the lower chambers can be lethal. There is medication to control these conditions.

Why is my heart rate so high everyday?110-120 Blood pressure is normal. What does that mean?

Saturated fat is the main dietary cause of high blood cholesterol. Saturated fat is found mostly in foods from animals and some plants. Foods from animals include beef, beef fat, veal, lamb, pork, lard, poultry fat, butter, cream, milk, cheeses and other dairy products made from whole and 2 percent milk. All of these foods also contain dietary cholesterol. Foods from plants that contain saturated fat include coconut, coconut oil, palm oil and palm kernel oil (often called tropical oils), and cocoa butter.

High cholesterol causes high blood pressure. The best thing for high cholesterol is Losing weight.

Why is my heart rate so high everyday?110-120 Blood pressure is normal. What does that mean?

If you are not exercising before this heart rate of 110- 120, and if you do not have Lupus or severe heart disease, that is too high!

You could be taking in too much caffeine or stimulants, herbal stimulants such as herbal supplements or tea, or diet pills.

If you are not on these things, see a doctor.

Heart rate over 100 sustained for more than 30 minutes puts more stress on the heart and can cause real problems.

if you have no other problem and your heart is beating regularly, then forget it.

Whats a good heart rate at rest for someone taking bisoprolol?

The answer is there isn%26#039;t one. The reason for taking bisoprolol is to reduce the workload of the heart by slowing it down. This also reduce blood pressure. One%26#039;s heart rate may go down to 50s and sometimes 40s, but as long as one remain asymptomatic, this is acceptable. The efficacy of the drug is not measured by heart rate, but blood pressure and side-effect (if any).

Why is my heart rate (pulse) super fast all the time regardless of my hydration exertion etc...?

I run 130 to 150 all the time unless I am exercising inwhich case it runs %26gt;170. I am a little overweight, not much and I am 32, female.

My bp is low, like 112/60, most of the time.

Why is my heart rate (pulse) super fast all the time regardless of my hydration exertion etc...?

sounds u got hyperthyroidism ,get a thyroid test done ,and also a complete blood test for anaemia ,and ekg for heart arrythmais, could also be panic attacks ,but thats isnot sustained

Why is my heart rate (pulse) super fast all the time regardless of my hydration exertion etc...?

I%26#039;m the same way (although my rate isn%26#039;t quite so high) and I%26#039;m 39, I found out about this when I was around 34. You may want to look up tachycardia on the internet.

I tried to join a gym and they wouldn%26#039;t let me because my heart rate was around 120. I went to the doctor and she thought everything was fine, just that I was out of shape (even though I%26#039;m thin, I never exercise).

Is a resting heart rate of 96 high?

65-80 is normal...try cutting down on your caffeine and see what happens.....

Is a resting heart rate of 96 high?

Yes. Could be due to caffeine, rx, or infection?

Is a resting heart rate of 96 high?

Most definintely. The resting heart rate should be 50 to 90. Previous to the ambulatory blood pressure and pulse recordings of the mid to late 1980s 60 to 100 was considered normal. These studies also found that %26#039;first thing in the morning%26#039; resting pulse should be 50 to 70. Finally after more than several hundred ambulatory studies it became apparent that elevations in resting pulse rate are as important as elevations in blood pressure in predicting premature (less than age 65 for a woman) cardiovascular events (such as strokes and heart attacks). I would record your resting pulse rate when you first awake in the morning - write them down - and if they average above 70 per minute consult your physician.

Is a resting heart rate of 96 high?

The best time to find your resting heart rate is in the morning, after a good night%26#039;s sleep, and before you get out of bed. Your resting heart rate rises with age and a persons heart rate can be lower than someone who is an athlete.

Is a resting heart rate of 96 high?

Hi. As far the pulse rate is concerned, the normal resting heart beat counts at an average rate of 72 per min. Regarding urs one, 96, its a bit high, suggesting some , in its least diagnosis as Anxiety otherwise some other pathological problems do anounce them an that way for example hyperthyroidism, anemia, low grade fever atc. The solution to find is lets first of all u should check ur sleeping pulse with someones help. If it counts the same then it is not anxiety because it has to get down during sleep. It may be due to other pathologies as mentioned. Go for the lab test for example CBC, TFTS, and others if indicated after ur clinical examination and history.

Is a resting heart rate of 96 high?

It is high. I had it (90-100) and it lead to high blood pressure and dizziness (pretty much the worst feeling I%26#039;ve ever had in my life so far). The doctor prescribed Lopressor. It took about a year for the blood pressure to go back to normal. The doctor said they are not sure why this occurs, it could be genetic, or diet/alcohol/smoke related. See a doctor if you don%26#039;t want to end up with heart disease when you are older.

Is a resting heart rate of 96 high?

Yes it%26#039;s relatively high

If increasing your heart rate increases your fitness, does that mean you can get fit from fear?

just wondering

i know the answer is no but i dont know why

If increasing your heart rate increases your fitness, does that mean you can get fit from fear?

Fear cause a rush of adrenalin which causes the heart to race, This adrenalin initiates the %26quot;fight or flight%26quot; syndrome. When you%26#039;re scared, it%26#039;s telling you to either stay and fight or get the heck out of there. Adrenalin is given to heart attack victims who%26#039;s heart has stopped. When you exercise, you secrete endorphins instead which helps you with the pain of exercise so you can keep going and it%26#039;s only the exercise that causes a faster heart rate. Hope this helps

If increasing your heart rate increases your fitness, does that mean you can get fit from fear?

When your scared your not burning calories are you?

No,theres your answer.

If increasing your heart rate increases your fitness, does that mean you can get fit from fear?

no lol...funny question though...

fear can cause a heart attack

continual stress an lead to real problems....

If increasing your heart rate increases your fitness, does that mean you can get fit from fear?

Only if you run a mile due to the fear . When you exercise your heart beats faster to supply oxygen to you working muscles . Fitness relates to your efficiency in supplying those muscles with oxygen and the ability to deal with the by products such as lactic acid . When you are fearfull your heart is responding to catecholamines which are released to help prepare you for maximal physical activity . Its called fight-flight response . This happens over a relatively short time and would not be sufficient for a training effect on the heart .

Why does your heart rate increase when you're nervous or uncomfortable?

I don%26#039;t need anything too elaborate, but some science would be good. I don%26#039;t mind lots of science terms so you don%26#039;t need to dumb it down for me lol Thanks

Why does your heart rate increase when you%26#039;re nervous or uncomfortable?

You pump more blood to bring more oxygen to every part of your body so you can be ready to fight or flee. It%26#039;s an internal survival mechanism.

(Fight or flight response.)

Why does your heart rate increase when you%26#039;re nervous or uncomfortable?

Your body has built in defenses. When you feel nervous your body secretes adrenaline. Adrenaline causes your heart to speed up so your blood will pump faster. This sends blood out to your brain and limbs so you can fight or prepare to flee. It%26#039;s called the fight or flight syndrome. It%26#039;s actually pretty cool. Without this defense most of us wouldn%26#039;t survive too long. When danger comes along, if we didn%26#039;t have a burst of adrenaline we would not have the extra power to run or think of a way to defend ourselves.

Why does your heart rate increase when you%26#039;re nervous or uncomfortable?

hmm i hope this isn%26#039;t a homework question... but anyways in science terms, the parasympathetic nervous system releases endorphins (fight or flight syndrome) that allow for the body to prepare to ATTACK

in lamens terms: your body does not know what you are about to go through and wants to be as prepared as possible for whatever lies ahead, this means as much blood flow as possible(which carries oxygen)

Why does your heart rate increase when you%26#039;re nervous or uncomfortable?

Adrenaline mate. It%26#039;s the fight or flight mechanism we%26#039;ve had since caveman days. Blimy-gotta go there%26#039;s a gator coming this way.

Why does your heart rate increase when you%26#039;re nervous or uncomfortable?

The fight or flight syndrome is what your body does in a state of arousal such as this. To say it better; the body is getting ready for running away or staying and fighting its way forward.

you have three nervous systems; autonomic, parasympathetic, and the central nervous system. These cause a certain amount of hormones from glands to enter the bloodstream for the above conditions. We do even more of this in times of everyday stress. Volunteer Counselor Western Illinois University

What does your heart rate have to be to burn fat?

On the Biggest Loser last night, the trainers had them getting up to 180 heart rate, that pretty high intensity, it should burn some fat if yo u can sustain it.

Who gave everyone that answered a thumbs down??

What does your heart rate have to be to burn fat?

depends on your weight

What does your heart rate have to be to burn fat?

You want to get it up to 85% of your MAX heart rate.

What does your heart rate have to be to burn fat?

This differs for all people as everyone is of different fitness but I do know that if u get yourself to sweat and u can feel your heart pounding that u r burning fat. Try to get yourself into a sweat for between 10-30mins depending on your fitness level. All the best :)

What does your heart rate have to be to burn fat?

Here is the Target Heart Rate Calculator. You have to enter your personal criteria: your age and fitness level. Then click on the calculate button and you%26#039;ve got it!

http://exercise.about.com/cs/fitnesstool...

What does your heart rate have to be to burn fat?

It depends on how much you weigh and your amount of actual body fat.

What does your heart rate have to be to burn fat?

Heart rate in an indication that you are burning calories because your body uses more oxygen when you burn calories so you breath faster and your heart pumps blood through your lungs faster so your muscles get the oxygen to burn fat.

Burning is literal, the fuel is fat and sugar and the oxidizer is oxygen from your lungs and this is burned creating CO2 and some byproducts that are removed by your kidneys when you urinate.

What does your heart rate have to be to burn fat?

If you%26#039;re new to exercise, or had a long lay off you want to start off at around 60% of your maximum HR, for more than 30mins per session.

If you%26#039;re already doing some training, you need to raise your game and spend as much time as possible (but at least 20mins per session) at a higher heart rate - 80-85% of maximum is achievable for most people (in good health) and higher level athletes can spend significant periods at around 90%.

Depending on your level and the type of sport/ event you are training for, you may wish to do some anaerobic training also - working as close to maximum HR for short bursts between lower intensity bouts to recover. This is for more advanced athletes.

Do not fall for the %26quot;fat burning zone%26quot; trap. Working at low intensities for a long time only really works for very unfit people, or those who are injured, elderly, or have other reason to limit their exercise. Although at this lower intensity the percentage of calories burned coming from fat stores is high, the overall calorific requirement is low. The body also adapts to this within a fairlyt brief space of time (up to 12 weeks) and will stop allowing fat stores to be plundered. Training at a high intensity burns a lot of calories. Although there is a more even spread of energy provision from fat, protein and carbohydrate at high intensity, you still burn more fat in total than at lower intensity work.

With high intensity work you also get afterburn - due to increased metabolic activity you continue to burn a greater ammount of calories after you finish your workout.

Higher intensities of exercise will also give you better cardiovascular fitness.

To work out how fast your heart should be beating, follow this formula:-

Subtract your age from 220

Now subtract your resting heart rate

Multiply the number by the percentage of maximum intensity you want to work at (e.g. 80%)

Now add your resting heart rate back on

e.g.

220-30= 190

190-60= 130

130x80%=104

104+60=164

Why does my heart rate increase when I am playing video games?

does it increase more when I play a violent game

Why does my heart rate increase when I am playing video games?

Any activity increases your heart rate - the more you are into the game, the higher your heart rate will be. This is a normal occurrence.

Why does my heart rate increase when I am playing video games?

you are getting your adrenaline level up,which encourages the body%26#039;s flight or fight response..which causes an increase in your heart rate! yes ,a violent game would do the same..

Why does my heart rate increase when I am playing video games?

because your are probably getting in the game to much

What should my heart rate be to be burning stored fat?

im 23 years old and have alot of post baby fat to lose

What should my heart rate be to be burning stored fat?

There are 2 school%26#039;s of thought for this.

The longer medium heart rate cardio work out and the High Intensity work out.

The first one is what most people use, the keep their heart rate steady (I%26#039;m not going to give you numbers) but you should be able to keep your breath and having a conversation without breathing heavily. Do this for 1 hour split between any machines/same machine.

The second one, often refered to as HIIT (high intensity interval training), the one I%26#039;ve been using for 6 months, normally lasts no more than 30 minutes, split between various machines.

My personal program is 6 minutes each on 4 cardio machines.

Of those 6 minutes, split them with 30seconds jogging speed, then 30 seconds sprint and repeat 6 times. Do this on 4 machines.

The object of the game here is to reach V02 max, I%26#039;m not gonna bore you with the details but you can look on the website below for more info.

If you wanna see how far I%26#039;ve come in the last 6 months with HIIT training, check out my profile.

What should my heart rate be to be burning stored fat?

Suggest that you invest in a personal trainer if only for one session to give you a safe and effective regime. I believe the rule of thumb is 220 minus your age therefore around 195. I find the most effective way is to exercise intensely for say one minute raising the heart rate to say 180-190 and then slow down for one minute. Keep doing that for as long as you can as fat will continue to burn in the slow down period. Also alternate cardiovascular with resistance training, so that you are burning fat consistently through your regime.

What should my heart rate be to be burning stored fat?

As ya know the normal rate of heart beat is anything in between 72 to 80 bpm.But you must know that, on exercising the normal heart beat rate gets elavated.Such elevation in heart rate, necessarily does%26#039;nt mean good for every individual. The age,sex and general health condition, play a vital role in determining a safe limit for elevated heart rate. What I mean to say is that,no generality can be said in such matter. An elevated heart beat, of so to say 145 bpm, may be beneficial to one but it can spell doom for another. With rise in heart beat rate, the heart shows marked changes in its electrical output. An electrocardiograph or ECG shows changes in its PQRST waves and with further increase in heart rate the T waves starts showing abnormalities, and this is the stage when there is risk of myocardial infraction or heart attack.Hence dont seek advice in such matters on the net.If you are serious about burning up fat,do consult a doc in this matter who could give you a Holter Treadmill test to determine your safe limit.

What should my heart rate be to be burning stored fat?

Hi Gemma,

The classic formula to determine your maximum heart rate (MHR) is the number 220 less your age (220-23=197 bpm).

However, this number represents the maximum amount of times the heart of a 23 year old can beat in 1 minute (not the beats per minute you should be training at).

Your target heart rate (THR), the rate at which you want to be training at is a range between 60 and 90 percent of your MHR (i.e. 197 bpm x 60%= 118.2 AND 197 x 90%= 177.3).

Where you train within this range depends on your current conditioning level.

If you%26#039;re just starting out, stay closer to the 60 to 70 percent range (i.e. 118.2 to 137.9 beats per minute).

You should know that any formula used to estimate heart rate has a standard error of estimate (SEE) of about 12 to 15 bpm- therefore, your true THR can be a little less or a little more than you calculate.

There is a classic myth out there that says that your %26#039;fat burning zone%26#039; is around 70% of your THR (in your case, somewhere around 137.9 bpm). This is because at that rate your body will be primarily using fats as a substrate to supply energy- whereas at a higher THR, you will be burning primarily glucose (blood sugar).

But while this is true, the point that matters most is the total number of calories burned- regardless of whether they%26#039;re from fat or glucose. Therefore, training at a higher THR will always burn more calories than a lower THR (even though a greater percentage from fats may be burned at that lower rate).

In any event, you should always train in a heart rate zone that is commensurate with your conditioning level. So if you are just starting out, stick to a THR that is between 60 and 70 percent of your MHR.

In your case, this will be somewhere around 118 to 138 beats per minute (bpm) plus or minus 10 to 15 beats ( to account for SEE).

Good-luck with your training!

All the best,

Herve

What should my heart rate be to be burning stored fat?

Fat is burned as fuel ALL THE TIME, regardless of your heart rate. During exercise, your heart rate increases, but this does NOT indicate that you are burning more fat.

Muscle fibres are the largest user of fat in your body, BUT some of them ONLY burn fat, while the rest burn sugar.

These types of fibres are used for different kinds of movement. Fat burns slowly, and the muscle fibres that use it can ONLY produce gentle movements. These are called %26#039;slow-twitch fibres%26#039;, and they can keep working continuously without %26#039;fatiguing%26#039; (getting tired).

Vigorous movement needs more energy, so a lot of %26#039;standard%26#039; training advice will tell you to work very hard to maximise your use of calories. However, this strategy is a %26#039;false economy%26#039;. Burning more calories does NOT mean that you will use more fat.

(The idea that %26#039;fat calories%26#039; and %26#039;sugar calories%26#039; are interchangeable IS A MYTH. Your body CAN turn fat into sugar, or sugar into fat, but the circumstances where this could happen in large amounts are extremely rare.)

Power is added to any movement (for acceleration or strength), by %26#039;fast-twitch%26#039; muscle fibres. These contract explosively, because they burn sugar. But burning sugar will make you tired and hungry. You will need to stop the activity, and eat to replace the used fuel. Most of the extra %26#039;metabolism%26#039; that happens during %26#039;recovery%26#039; from intense exercise, is also powered by sugar.

If you keep moving continuously throughout the day, you can burn more calories overall, than you can by doing bursts of energetic %26#039;session%26#039; activities.

Activities that are gentle enough to continue indefinitely without tiring you, are using ONLY fat as a fuel. These activities will also trigger the release of more fat from storage.

To burn fat, AVOID FATIGUE. All of the time you spend moving around, you are burning fat, and releasing more to be burned. All of the time you spend being immobile, you are storing more fat than you burn.

After pregnancy, the way you use the muscles around your torso has changed. You can speed up the process of %26#039;getting back%26#039; your figure by doing activities that increase %26#039;core stability%26#039;. These changes to your muscle system, will be visible very quickly.

Removing stored fat is a much slower process, but you have probably stored LESS extra fat than you think. The muscles are underneath, and can easily be hidden by a moderate layer of fat, especially if they have less %26#039;tone%26#039; than they had before.

What should my heart rate be to be burning stored fat?

You don%26#039;t have to concern yourself with that. Just go for a good fast pace walk for 45-60 minutes or jog for 20-30 minutes. Here are more fat burning tips:

What is the heart rate of a person sleeping?

Normal heart rate is 60 to 100 beats per minute, although it tends to be a little lower with sleep when the body mechanisms slow down and the tissues require less oxygen. This can vary from person to person based on fitness level, disease process, underlying undiagnosed cardiac problems, medications, caffeine intake, age and sex. Normal resting heart rate could even be in the 50s and 40s.

What is the heart rate of a person sleeping?

depends on :

generally is around 60-80 beat per minute.

Question about fetal heart rate and what it means....?

I had an ultrasound today. They say I am 5 weeks and 6 days pregnant - 6 weeks tomorrow.

I was able to see and hear the heartbeat - but she said it was low 93 and they like it to be 120 or so.

Is 93 normal for how far along I am? Anyone else have the heartbeat low at first then go up to normal an end up just fine?

My husband thinks that they are being alarmists and need to valdate their presence by scaring me and getting me to come back for more tests. More tests = more money for them. They want me to come back next week for another ultrasound - which will be my 3rd and by then I%26#039;ll be 7 weeks.

Any thoughts?

Question about fetal heart rate and what it means....?

i am also in the same boat as you. I went for an ultrasound on monday and they told me that instead of being 7 weeks the baby was size of 5 1/2 weeks (this could be becuase dates were out) and that the heartrate was a little slow. I am kicking myself now for not asking the exact heartrate and so i can%26#039;t compare it to your baby%26#039;s. But they said that the heartrate was a bit slow and so I am also going for another ultrasound next week. There is no way that I wouldn%26#039;t go next week and I think you sound like you want to go but your husband is giving you doubts. I have done research on internet and it seems that in some cases the heartrate gets quicker (if it is v early in pregnancy sometimes it can just sort itself out for the best) but in some cases it just stops. I hope that you and I both get good news next week when we go back for another ultrasound.

Question about fetal heart rate and what it means....?

thank you charlie. the scan on tuesday went well this time - all back to normal. I%26#039;d love to keep in touch with you as it seems were at the same stage. What do you think? Report It

Question about fetal heart rate and what it means....?

Wow, I%26#039;m not sure about this one. What did the doctor say? When my son was 7 weeks old his heart rate was 177. They said it%26#039;s usually fast in the beginning of pregnancy, but I think yours is a bit low. They say any where from 120-180 in pregnancy is good. Was there a reason they told you for it being so low?

I don%26#039;t think they are being alarmists. That does not sound normal and so what if they want more test that equal *more money*? They are trying to protect the well being of your unborn child. Go back for the tests because that number is very low.

Question about fetal heart rate and what it means....?

I%26#039;m sorry, but the physicians are correct here. A fetal heart rate below 145 or so at 5 weeks pregnant is not a good sign and leaves you at high risk for miscarriage.

Its weird that your husband thinks this might be a ploy to scare you and do more expensive tests? Maybe he is in denial? You will want to keep a close eye on the fetus to see if things improve. You should definitely go to the next ultrasound appointment.

I only had one early ultrasound -- at 7 weeks also -- and it showed a fetal heartrate of about 160 or so. Because this was considered good, I didn%26#039;t have any more ultrasounds until my 20-week appoinment.

Good luck.

Question about fetal heart rate and what it means....?

93 seems low. My daughters heartrate is baseline 145, it flucuates but not that low. I wouldnt play around with what the doctor says, if you trust your doctor go with whatever he/she needs you to do.

Question about fetal heart rate and what it means....?

Actually its not normal, generally when you%26#039;re not far along the baby%26#039;s heartbeat is very fast. Up in the 150s for the first couple weeks and by the end it normally goes down to the 120s. Definatly go in for that ultrasound, if the heartbeat is still slower than the like they%26#039;ll check out the heart for any abnormalities.

If they don%26#039;t find anything then you should be able to relax a bit and hey you get a couple of extra ultrasounds out of it. Thats always nice. Maybe eat something before going in. If you hadn%26#039;t had anything for awhile then it would be normal for the baby%26#039;s heart beat to be slower. Still not that slow.

Question about fetal heart rate and what it means....?

That is very low for that age. At 6 weeks my baby was about 140, now at 14.5 weeks it is 152. I would definitely go back to check it out. I don%26#039;t think that the tech is trying to validate their existance.... There are plenty of pregnant women out there, I%26#039;m sure they don%26#039;t just need extra money.

Very Best Wishes!

Why does your heart rate go up when you inhale?

one of the great mysteries of life

Why does your heart rate go up when you inhale?

I suppose it%26#039;s because there is oxygen in the lungs, and your heart has to get it into the blood.

Why does your heart rate go up when you inhale?

because u have more oxygen coming into your body ( blood cells)

Why does your heart rate go up when you inhale?

since while breathing in, you have more air to process from in the lungs..

hence the heart goes faster

Why does your heart rate go up when you inhale?

possibly

Why is blood pressure and heart rate differ when measured sitting and standing positions?

When you are sitting, your thighs are close to level horizontally. That reduces the amount of work the heart has to do somewhat to keep the flow. When standing erect, the full force of gravity has to be overcome to do the job. Hence a slight rise in blood pressure and heart rate.

Laying down also helps to reduce the effort required to move the blood.

Why is blood pressure and heart rate differ when measured sitting and standing positions?

bcoz both the condition are different

blood vessels r pressurized in diff pressure

in standing position legs have more weight

What is the average maximum heart rate for someone who is 10?

There isn%26#039;t a specific maximum heart rate. generally a maximum heart rate is 220 - your age, indicating you could safely go to 210 beats per minute as a 10 year old!

What is the average maximum heart rate for someone who is 10?

220???????u surely didnt research...

normal heart rate is 75 beats per minute..as long as the person is healthy..meaning their blood vessels are in their best conditions...its at the set value because the volume of blood pumped byt he heart is constant..5 litres....

the only time this changes is if teh blood vessels ar ein a diseased state..such as a blockage which decreases the heart rate or hemmorrage...

exercises increases heart rate..

u can take a count by feeling for a pulse at the wrist and counting the beats in 1 minute

Does the speed of your heart rate have anything to do with your breathing?

i need this answer for my science fair

Does the speed of your heart rate have anything to do with your breathing?

Not normally. But if your respiratory rate is too slow, you will become hypoxemic (oxygen starved) which will lead to a rapid heart rate.

Does the speed of your heart rate have anything to do with your breathing?

Depends. If you exercise then yes. As your heartrate raises, you need to supply oxygenated blood to your muscles. That requires breathing, and since your heart is beating faster and your muscles need more blood, your breathing obviously changes and increases as well.

Does the speed of your heart rate have anything to do with your breathing?

if what you mean is that they are somehow correlated...not really. if you think about it your heart can beat up to 180 to 200 times per minute but you will not be able to breath more than about 30 times per minute. oxygen delivery becomes much much more efficient the more your tissues need it.

How to calculate heart rate on EKG?

the countdown method:

by going by the big squares..memorise this sequence:300,150,100,75,50

1500 method:

1500 small swuares represent 1 minute. count the small squares between indentical points on 2 consecutive P waves. then divide 1500 by that number to get the atrial rate. to get the ventricular rate use the same mothod with 2 consecutive R waves.

count the number of big squares between 2 consecutive R waves...then divide 300 by that number.

if the rhythm is irregular, use the 10-time method:

get a 6 second strip (15 big squares= 3 sec), count the number of P waves for atrial rate, or R waves for ventricular rate, ultiply by 10.

Is a higher heart rate normal for people with one lung. ?

I%26#039;ve had two-thirds of my right lung removed. Now I have severe lung disease. My heart rate is usually pretty high. I have pulmonary hypertension, which is high blood pressure in the lungs. It has caused my heart to work harder and now I have congestive heart failure, too.

So, I would say you definitely need to talk with your doctor.

Best of luck!

Can your resting heart rate change during the day?

i took my pulse 3 times an hour ago and it was in between72-77 and now i take it and it is in the mid 60 is that normal. can it change over time it you are just resting and watching tv.

Can your resting heart rate change during the day?

There is a quite a lot of changes in heart rate, during the day or night. Unless there are no signs and symptoms, your pulse is perfectly within normal range.

If you have pulse monitored there will be changes in minutes!! So kindly don%26#039;t make it a compulsion, OK.

Can your resting heart rate change during the day?

Yes, it can change minute to minute. If your pulses are 80 or under, you have a normal heart rate. Stress, anxiety, illness, medication, even simply watching tv, your rates can change. From what you have described, I think you are just fine.

Can your resting heart rate change during the day?

Your pulse rate can vary throughout the day. It%26#039;s lowest when you first get up in the morning and at night. If you%26#039;re excited or nervous it changes, it%26#039;s nothing to be concerned about it. Exercising will increase it while resting (or watching tv) will decrease it. Also, anything between 60-100 is normal for a pulse.

Can your resting heart rate change during the day?

The heart rate or what we call the pulse rate can change by the seconds. Try hooking yourself into the cardiac monitor, and you will find out that even your blood pressure changes within seconds.

There are many factors that can affect our heart rate,- physical activity, state of consciousness %26amp; emotions, etc. All these can contribute causing release of a variety of hormones interacting with each other , in our body. These are the ones taking over and dictating the heart rate seconds per seconds.

My baby's heart rate was 173, am i more then likely to have a girl or boy?

it%26#039;s a myth...statistically it%26#039;s about as good as a coin toss..50/50.

all my babies had around the same heart rate. i have 2 boys 1 girl, and currently pregnant w/a boy.

http://www.kidshealth.org/parent/general...

My baby%26#039;s heart rate was 173, am i more then likely to have a girl or boy?

The heart rate thing is a myth. All babies have varying heart rates so its virtually impossible to tell.

Any experienced ob would agree with me!

I have had 5 babies and I know that the heart rate does NOT mean a thing!

My baby%26#039;s heart rate was 173, am i more then likely to have a girl or boy?

There is a belief that the fetal heart rate is different for girls and boys. Many think that girls have a faster heart rate than boys. Rumor has it that if the baby閳ユ獨 heart rate is above 140, it is a girl. If the rate is below 140, it is a sign of a boy.

My baby%26#039;s heart rate was 173, am i more then likely to have a girl or boy?

If the tale stands true for you.............it would be a girl. But this has been known to be wrong!!

Me

Boy always 150s

Girl always 170s

My baby%26#039;s heart rate was 173, am i more then likely to have a girl or boy?

its a myth all three of my babys heart rates were always between 155 and 160 ive got 2 girls and a boy

My baby%26#039;s heart rate was 173, am i more then likely to have a girl or boy?

well those are all myths, but by pure luck mine came true with both kids. you are likely to have a boy... as the myth would say. quicker heart rate boy.:) but it could be both.

My baby%26#039;s heart rate was 173, am i more then likely to have a girl or boy?

The non professional beleif is over 160 it%26#039;s a girl.

My obgyn said that is unfounded.

Congrats, and we all know you will be happy either way it%26#039;s just fun to play the %26quot;what do you think game%26quot;

My baby%26#039;s heart rate was 173, am i more then likely to have a girl or boy?

Sounds like a girl to me...the old wives tale is above 140 is a girl below is a boy.....

my boys were all within 140-146 range though...and my daughter (currently pregnant with) is in the same range....

but being that high my guess is still girl!!

Congrats on your pregnancy!

My baby%26#039;s heart rate was 173, am i more then likely to have a girl or boy?

You can%26#039;t tell if your having a boy or girl by the babys heart rate....thats just a myth...the babys heart rate goes down a little when the baby is sleeping and when the baby is awake it goes up so you wouldnt be able to tell if the baby is sleeping or awake.

My baby%26#039;s heart rate was 173, am i more then likely to have a girl or boy?

an ultrasound can give you the best guess on what you will have. congratulations on your pregnancy

mother of 3 and 28 weeks prego

My baby%26#039;s heart rate was 173, am i more then likely to have a girl or boy?

The myth always proved true for me. MY oldest her heart rate was 170 and she was a girl. I 29 weeks pregnant with a little girl her heart rate as been 156 to 173. But I know it%26#039;s just myth but it%26#039;s fun to guess.

My baby%26#039;s heart rate was 173, am i more then likely to have a girl or boy?

it is a myth but it held true for me.

What is the heart rate for a small dog and what is the stable fit temperature of a dog under normal

a dogs heart rate should be between 60-80 beats per minute

the temperture should be between 99.5鎺?to 102.5鎺矲

What is the heart rate for a small dog and what is the stable fit temperature of a dog under normal conditions

HERE YA GO:

1) Body Temperature

Canine %26quot;normal%26quot; body temperature range is 100.5 - 102.5 Fahrenheit (38 - 39.2 Celsius).

A body temperature below 100 or above 103F warrants a call to your veterinarian. Body temperature in dogs is most often measured rectally, ear thermometers can also be used, but it can be difficult to get an accurate reading. Gauging body temperature by the moistness of the nose or how warm the ears feel is not reliable. Click here to learn how to assess your dog%26#039;s body temperature.

2) Respiratory Rate

18-34 breaths per minute

Respiratory rate is the number of breaths per minute. Normal respiratory rates are assessed when the dog is resting. A dog that is in pain, having heart or respiratory problems, suffering from heatstroke, or simply excited will usually have increased respiratory rates. It is important to gauge the overall situation and condition of the animal to assess the respiratory rate.

3) Heart Rate

70-120 beats per minute

Larger dogs have slower rates than small dogs, and dogs that are in good physical shape will have lower heart rates than dogs of similar age and size who are not physically fit. Puppies typically have higher heart rates, up to 180 beats per minute is normal up to one year of age.

4) Duration of Pregnancy

On average, canine pregnancy lasts 63 days, but can vary from 58 to 68 days.

What is the average rate of the heart rate of a 12-13 year old?

A normal resting pulse rate is between

60 - 90 beats per minute.

At the basic level, this topic summary is very good:

The coordinated contraction of the heart is produced because the cells with the fastest rate of depolarisation %26quot;capture%26quot; the rest of the heart muscle cells. These cells with the fastest rate of depolarisation are in the sinoatrial node (SA node), the %26quot;pacemaker%26quot; of the heart, found in the right atrium. As the SA node depolarises, a wave of electrical activity spreads out across the atria to produce atrial contraction. [Fig 1]

Electrical activity then passes through the atrioventricular node (AV node) and through into the ventricles via the Purkinje fibres in the Bundle of His to produce a ventricular contraction. If there is any disease of the conducting system of the heart, then this process may be interfered with and the heart rate altered. If, for example, there is disease of the AV node, then there is an electrical block between the atria and the ventricles. The ventricles will beat with their own inherent rhythm, which is much slower, usually 30-50 beats per minute.

Anaesthetic drugs, like halothane, may depress the rate of depolarisation of the SA node, and the AV node may become the pacemaker of the heart. When this occurs it is frequently termed nodal or junctional rhythm.

This automatic rhythm of the heart can be altered by the autonomic nervous system. The sympathetic nervous system supply to the heart leaves the spinal cord at the first four thoracic vertebra, and supplies most of the muscle of the heart. Stimulation via the cardiac beta-1 receptors causes the heart rate to increase and beat more forcefully. The vagus nerve also sup plies the atria, and stimulation causes the heart rate to decrease (bradycardia). Surgical proce dures can cause vagal stimulation and produce severe bradycardia. Examples include pulling on the mesentery of the bowel, anal dilatation or pulling on the external muscles of the eye. Under normal conditions the vagus nerve is the more important influence on the heart. This is especially noticeable in athletes who have slow heart rates.

There are nervous reflexes that effect heart rate. The afferents are nerves in the wall of the atria or aorta that respond to stretch. The aorta contains high pressure receptors. When the blood pressure is high these cause reflex slowing of the heart to reduce the cardiac output and the blood pressure. Similarly, when the blood pressure is low, the heart rate increases, as in shock. Similar pressure receptors are found in the atria. When the atria distend, as in heart failure or overtransfusion, there is a reflex increase in the heart rate to pump the extra blood returning to the heart. When there is a sudden reduction in the pressure in the atria the heart slows. This is called the Bainbridge Reflex and is the cause for the marked bradycardia sometimes seen during spinal anaesthesia. It is best treated by raising the legs to increase the venous return.

Circulatory substances can also affect the heart rate. Catecholamines, like adrenaline, are released during stress, and will cause an increase in heart rate. Drugs are another common cause of change in the heart rate and most anaesthetic drugs can do this. Halothane affects the SA node and will also depress the force of contraction of the heart. Isoflurane, by contrast has little direct affect on the heart, but causes peripheral vasodilation of the blood vessels. This will then decrease the blood pressure, and hence produce a reflex tachycardia as explained above. Ketamine causes stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system, and therefore produces a tachycardia. Other circulating substances may also affect the heart rate, acting indirectly through the autonomic nervous system. For example increased blood concentrations of carbon dioxide will cause stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system and tachycardia, and is an important sign of respiratory failure.

What causes palpatationsin the heart (increased heart rate)?

if you%26#039;re healthy then maybe anxietys, panic attacks, (mostly thinking about it, ive had it all before) if you dont excersice alot, then that could be it, or maybe an eating disorder, it depends what your situation is. try consulting your doctor if it bothers you alot, he%26#039;ll check your blood pressure etc and tell you if you need to excersice or not

What causes palpatationsin the heart (increased heart rate)?

George Clooney!!!!!!!!

How age affect heart rate?

actually the answer above is wrong.. As you get older your heart rate will usually decrease, as it%26#039;s taking more work to pump, if it is increasing then usually the pt is in A Fib, which is an irregular heart beat that can cause an MI.. kinda like its got a short in the wire.. As you get older your heart rate will be affected, excercise and proper diet become much more important.

How age affect heart rate?

as you get older your heartrate tends to increase because your heart is not as strong as it use to be, and also because you are not in as good shape as you use to be.

Quick whats your heart rate right now?

just count it up to 15 secs then multiply it by 4 and theres your beats per min

so whats yours... mine right now is 88 bpm i wonder if thats bad

Quick whats your heart rate right now?

That%26#039;s not terrible but it%26#039;s not great either. Mine is 55

Quick whats your heart rate right now?

Why is monitoring heart rate considered important?

if the heart rate is either too fast or too slow, there won%26#039;t be adequate perfusion to the vital organs.

How do movies affect heart rate?

I have two factors: Adrenaline rushes, and people feel emotionally drained after a sad movie.

How do movies affect heart rate?

I think Comedy movies are the best.. Check this out:

%26quot;Humour Heals%26quot;

%26quot;Norman Cousins was diagnosed with a terminal illness. The doctors told him

that they could no longer help him and that he would soon die. So he checked

into a hotel room and hired all the funny movies he could get and watched

and re-watched them over and over, laughing as hard and loud as he could.

After 6 months of this self-inflicted laughter therapy, the doctors were

amazed to find that his illness had been completely cured - the cancer GONE!

This amazing resuld led to the publishing of the book ANATOMY OF AN ILLNESS

by Norman Cousins and the start of massive research into the function of

endorphins. Endorphin is a chemical substance that is released from the

brain when you laugh. It has a similar chemical composition to morphine and

heroin and has a tranquilising effect on the body while building the immune

system! This explains why happy people rarely get sick and miserable and

complaining people always seem to be ill.%26quot;

If it has a bunch of flashies. Yes. You will have a seizure. Seriously.

What is the ideal heart rate for burning colories or does it depend on weight/hight etc?

It depends on your resting heart rate and your age. You measure your resting heart rate (right after you wake in the morning) and you base the optimum rate for burning calories as a percentage of the resting rate.

The following example shows the low end of a target heart rate for a 35 year old person with a resting heart rate of 60 bpm:

220 - 35 = 185

185 - 60 = 125

125 x 50%= 62.5

62.5 + 60 = 123 beats per minute

The following example shows the high end of a target heart rate for a 35 year old person with a resting heart rate of 60 bpm:

220 - 35 = 185

185 - 60 = 125

125 x 85%= 106.25

106.25 + 60 = 166 beats per minute

What is the ideal heart rate for burning colories or does it depend on weight/hight etc?

It also depends on your age. The higher your heart rate the faster you are burning calories but this means you go flat out all the time. You%26#039;ll find this very unpleasant and possibly dangerous. Pick an heart rate that you find manageable and try and increase it by a few every week as you gain fitness.

What is the ideal heart rate for burning colories or does it depend on weight/hight etc?

It depends on you age and resting heart rate.

What is the ideal heart rate for burning colories or does it depend on weight/hight etc?

it depends on your weight and age. I would shoot for 160-200 bpm

What is the ideal heart rate for burning colories or does it depend on weight/hight etc?

80% of your maximum heart rate is the optimal heart rate to burn fat (which is what you want to burn). A rough estimate of your maximum heart rate is 220 - your age. So if you%26#039;re 20 years old your maximum heart rate would 220 - 20 = 200. There are several other factors, but without a detailed physical examination, these are decent guidlines to follow.

What is the ideal heart rate for burning colories or does it depend on weight/hight etc?

Faster than YOUR resting heart rate. It differs from person to person. Your weight will possibly contribute to your resting heart rate as if you are obese, your heart has to work harder to pump blood around your body. In order to burn calories you have to increase your metabolism which can easily be done by gently raising your heart rate. As long as it is maintained above resting for 20 mins, then you should burn more calories.

What is the normal heart rate of a borned baby?

What is the normal heart rate of a borned baby?

normally its between 100 to 112 beats per min and for some healthy newborns its btwn 120 -150 beats per min.

What is the normal heart rate of a borned baby?

there is no such thing as %26#039;normal%26#039;...hence different answers...

and ranges...

if you%26#039;re worried about the heart rate of your child/potential child, speak to an information center that you can either find by googling or in your yellow pages...

i%26#039;m a licensed nurse...the other answers are %26#039;in ranges%26#039; that can be healthy...

but this answer is the one you need to follow...

if you%26#039;re worried about something important, go to people who are supposedly qualified(there are terrible practitioners with licenses, therefore part 2 is very important)and 2)who don%26#039;t %26#039;talk down%26#039; or too technically to/with you...that you trust.

if you don%26#039;t like their answers, get a second opinion using the same guidelines...

if fact, get as many opinions as necessary until YOU feel comfortable with whatever use you%26#039;ll put the information to...

if there%26#039;s something you don%26#039;t understand, it%26#039;s your right to ask. there%26#039;s no such thing as a stupid question, no matter HOW many bad teacher/practitioners may want to make you feel that this isn%26#039;t so...

good luck...

and, btw, emotional states should always be considered when accounting for heart rate. not to mention exercise, and a number of other possible influences that an informed specialist should be able to explain...

Is it true that if your heart rate goes above a certain rate you are not burning fat?

Short answer, no. Whenever your heart is pumping (i.e., always) you need to burn fuel for energy. The fuel comes from the food you eat and the fat stored in your body (not from muscle or other places). The higher your heart rate, the more fuel you need.

Is it true that if your heart rate goes above a certain rate you are not burning fat?

Fat burns.. It just does.. Where did you hear that? It sounds a bit ridiculous. Could be true.. the body is weird. I%26#039;ll check back.

Is it true that if your heart rate goes above a certain rate you are not burning fat?

well at a cerian point you begin to burn more muscle than fat, you just need to find yoiur idel heart rate, by age and weight etc.

Is it true that if your heart rate goes above a certain rate you are not burning fat?

no, you are still burning fat, but when its in your upper rate you are in the cardiovascular zone...you are building your stamina, ability, and burning fat.

What is the normal heart rate of a 6 year old girl?

80-110 bpm

What is the normal heart rate of a 6 year old girl?

Around 70.

What is the normal heart rate of a 6 year old girl?

70 to 100 per mt.

What is a dangerous heart rate for a 6 yo girl?

depends on what she%26#039;s been doing for the last bit. sitting on the couch resting - i%26#039;d say about 140-160 is a little fast. running around playing, maybe 180 is fast. dangerously fast though, i would say over 200-220. if you%26#039;re worried about something call your dr and check with them....

What is a dangerous heart rate for a 6 yo girl?

By the rule at heart rate of 160 or above; some hearts will stop being efficient pumps. That is will not pump enough to keep you conscious.

But like all things biological wide variations do occur.

Yet if my 6 y.o. heart rate went 155, I%26#039;d take her to get checked out quickly.

What is a dangerous heart rate for a 6 yo girl?

For resting - a rate of no more than 150 BPM, however, if the child is active or moving about, then a rate of 215 would be the highest it should go.

What is a dangerous heart rate for a 6 yo girl?

If she has a fever expect a high rate. 120-160. 180-200 then we are talking about maybe a treatable SVT. I have given adenocard to a 6 year old girl before. That is a med to slow a HR and break them into a normal rhythm. Do give that to a child though is pretty rare. Usually all rapid heart rates in kids are caused by fever, dehydration, or both.

What is the resting heart rate that indicates physical fitness?
